Benjamin K. Haile of the Shinnecock tribe is the founder and owner of Thunder Island Coffee Roasters. They develop cooperative efforts to support Indigenous family owned organic coffee farms of Central and South America. They have created a "Native to Native Exchange," which is a network of Native American commerce and employment for their local community and abroad. Their green (unroasted) coffee beans are purchased from indigenous family owned organic coffee farms and each purchase complies with Fair Trade practices.
