Made in Ferndale, Michigan.
Made by Carl Scott. You know him, right?
Made of locally salvaged wood.
Carl Scott happens to be the husband of founder and co-owner Sandra Scott. In 2017, the pair worked together to sell soap decks and other wooden wares at local craft fairs. Carl loves to create things out of locally sourced wood, especially urban trees that are cut down for other purposes. Some of you may remember when "Made Of Michigan" was comprised entirely of cool wooden goods that Carl and his friend Eddie made. The business has had some twists and turns and has blossomed into the Copper CornerStore you see today.
The wood is locally sourced and sustainably harvested. It is coated with shellac, which is a natural, food safe finish made from the shell of a lac bug.
